2 Year Army Anniversary

Only 18 more years to go!  Wait a minute, now that doesn't sound very optimistic!  Let's try again. :-)

...Marshall & I have reached our 2 year anniversary of being in the Army! There may be a lot of years left, but I think today is a great day to celebrate the growth and accomplishment that has taken place over the past two years, instead of looking at all the time that is left.   I know he is the one who goes to work every day, but I am here supporting him at home on a daily basis too, so that is why I gave myself some credit as well.

Our one weekend of summer weather above 50 degrees last weekend.
I only wished it would stay!

I know many wives out there are probably laughing because it is only two years.  But I love any reason to celebrate and recognize a hard working and determined man!  Over the past two years, Marshall has done so many things, including:

-Getting Level 3 Combatives Certified
-Promoted to Specialist in December 2012
-Marrying an awesome lady :)
-Moving to Alaska and having so many adventures

It just so happened that on our celebration day, Wednesday, he didn't get home from the shooting range until nearly 8pm.  I had a wrapped present waiting for him on the table, and a dinner which he had requested, nearly done.

I just love this face for some reason
that I had to post this picture too!

It was a simple night of celebration, but I know he felt my love and I really enjoyed showing him how much he means to me by making him a nice dinner of lemon garlic roasted chicken & red potatoes and spinach and giving him a little gift.

I had picked up a new power drill for him, as his other one died a few months ago. This was a complete surprise to him, and he said "You did really good!"  I guess I got a few bonus points with this one!

I can't wait for all of the fun and uncertainty that will fill the next 18+ years of our Army career!

  1. woot! nice one on the drill! I have a hard time surprising mike with tools cause I'm always unsure if I'm getting crap or something good. Happy two years!

p.s. I love the second picture of marshall holding his present. That is the classic "marshall face"
